The Committee on Global Change is the official faculty body for the Global Change GIDP, a Ph.D. minor program in the Graduate College. To serve as the Global Change minor representative on a graduate student's Ph.D. committee, you must be appointed to the Committee on Global Change by the Director of the GIDP Programs.
Who may join the Committee on Global Change?
Criteria for membership includes participation in interdisciplinary global change activities at

Committee membership is required if you plan to mentor students who will elect the GC minor by serving as a representative of the GC-GIDP on the student's minor committee.
How do I become a member?
Faculty may be nominated for membership on the Committee on Global Change by submitting (a) a letter of request for membership and (b) a current curriculum vita to the Global change GIDP Executive Committee. Materials should be sent to the Global Change GIDP's Administrative Associate.
After approval by the Executive Committee, nominees are recommended to the Director of the Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs, who confers membership to the Committee.
In order to ensure active faculty membership in the Global Change GIDP, appointments to the Committee on Global Change are reviewed periodically by the Executive Committee.
What are my responsibilities as a
member of the Committee?
Members of the Committee on Global Change may serve as minor representatives on Ph.D. committees for students in the Ph.D. minor program in Global Change.
Representatives should become familiar with the requirements of the Global Change Ph.D. minor, and offer an appropriate global change perspective when serving on Ph.D. committees as a GC minor advisor.
Members of the Committee on Global Change should act as conduits of information about the Ph.D. minor to their respective academic units.
Members of the Committee on Global Change should serve when asked to participate on ad hoc committees of the program (e.g., committee to review dissertation improvement grants).
Members of the Committee on Global Change may vote on matters brought to the Committee by the Executive Committee.
Members of the Committee on Global Change are required to provide information on their GIDP-related activities by completing a Faculty Activity Report Form when requested.
Members of the Committee on Global Change are invited to serve as GC Faculty Ambassadors for their department or unit.
