ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

 1.  Then Dr H gave a presentation:  Topic #8  Wrap-Up, Test #2 Review & G-2 Assignment Energy Efficiency   
 
 NOTE:  There were 10 CLICKER QUESTION in the Test #2 review.  However, because so many questions on a single day
can skew the participation point results, today all those who clicked in class will get 1 point (instead of  10).

2.  After the Test #2 clicker review questions in the presentation, Dr H gave some background on different types of light bulbs for the G-2 Energy Efficiency assignment.  (See this background beginning with Slide #25 in the presentation ).  Then students got in their groups and worked on the assignment which involved drawing energy flow diagrams for the different types of light bulbs and then measuring the temperature of each of the bulb types (with an infrared thermometer).

Not all the groups finished, so on Monday after the Test #2 Group Test, there will be time to complete G-2 -- taking measurements if needed (or making-up the measurements you missed if you were absent).

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• Review the presentation linked above on Topic #8  Wrap-Up, Test #2 Review & G-2 Assignment Energy Efficiency

•  Go through all the Test #2 clicker review questions -- trying to answer them on your own BEFORE looking at the right answer on the next slide.

• If you were not present in class on Friday Sept 30th, you will be allowed to make-up the G-2 Group Assignment by doing the following:

  •  Print out this handout:   G-2 Make-Up Form 

  • Then answer Questions #1 and #2 on your own

  • Bring the Make-Up Form to class on Monday so you can take the measurements and consult with your group (if needed) to answer the Questions #3, #4, and #5.

  • Turn in or email the Make-Up Form to Dr H by Friday Oct 7th.
