Dissertation Improvement Grants
for students who are enrolled in the Global Change PhD Minor GIDP
The Institute of the Environment offers up to five Dissertation Improvement Grants in the amount of $1,000 each. Only current Global Change PhD Minor GIDP students are eligible to apply for these awards. The Dissertation Improvement Grants do not fund graduate assistantship salary or wages. Acceptable budgetary items include supplies, travel expenses for field research or to present at a professional meeting, data acquisition, and other general operations.
What are the qualifications?
Eligible students have:
- Submitted the GC-GIDP Intent to Declare form which indicates participation in the GC Minor.
- Established their graduate advisory committee with two members from the Committee on Global Change serving as Minor advisors.
- Submitted their graduate program Plan of Study to the Graduate College noting the Global Change Minor.
How to Apply
- Complete the application form <== still need to update it and put it online
- Submit a one page abstract of 500 words or less which describes your research
- Provide a budget using the budget template provided <== still need to update it and put it online
- Include a budget justification which specifies how the funds will help you to improve your dissertation
