The Laboratory offers several dendrochronology courses through cooperating academic departments. If a course is listed here under Geosciences ( GEOS) it may well also be offered under Anthropology (ANTH) or Watershed Management (W SM). The information appearing here is provisional, since some courses may be dropped if they attract no students, but additional courses, taught by visiting faculty members, may be added to this list.

This will be offered each semester, for 1 to 4 credits, with repeats possible up to 9 credits. You set your number of credits by selecting the appropriate number of 1-credit modules. In Spring 1998 the following 1-credit modules will be offered:
Are you curious about the landscape that you live in? Are you interested in learning about past and current changes in climate, cultures, and ecosystems here in the Southwest? What do tree rings, pack rats, Anasazi ruins, forest fires, droughts, floods, arroyos, and El Niño have to do with you? If you are curious about these topics and interconnections, consider taking this course!

This information is derived partly from the 1995 teaching schedule of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research and partly from the University of Arizona general catalog, which includes entries for all other departments. Information on the interdisciplinary Ph.D. minor in global change is available in greater detail elsewhere. Course registration details that depend on the Student Information System (SIS) may be inaccurate if that system is down.
