NATS-101 (Sections 40, 41, 42H) Introduction to Global Change
Spring 2001

Field Trip: An optional field trip on Saturday, March 23, from 8am to about 7pm will examine global change-related issues in the area south of Tucson, including natural vegetation and grazing, agriculture, mining and water resources. This is an excellent opportunity to examine global change-related issues up close, is worth up to 5 extra-credit points.

FIELD TRIP DETAILS:

For those of you going on the field trip next Saturday March 24, please be aware of the following:
1. We will meet at 8 am in front of 105 West Stadium. This is adjacent to Gate 15 on the west side of the football stadium
2. We hope to leave shortly thereafter as soon as we account for everybody.
3. There is a waiver form that must be competed and signed. It will be handed out during the first classes after break. You can fill it out during class and return it immediately, or you can turn it in later in the week or at 8am Saturday, but you will not be able to go without turning it in.
4. Bring lunch and water, pencil/pen and notebook. On some past trips it has been very cool and we will be at a higher elevation than Tucson (maybe 10-12 degrees F cooler or so) so make sure you are sufficiently warm clothes. This is especially important if it is windy.
5. We plan to be back no later than 7pm officially (but previously we have been back by about 6pm)
6. There will be a few rest stops; and the lunch stop will be about a block from a country store. Sorry no McDonalds or Taco Bells on the itinerary!
