DEBATE ROLE HELP PAGE

SOME SITES TO GET YOU STARTED:

A page devoted to GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE resources at the UA Library:

  http://www.library.arizona.edu/search/subjects/global/

Here are two very good BLOGS with current info:

The RealClimate Blog "Climate Science from Climate Scientists" is an excellent source of material contributed by respected climate scientists:  http://www.realclimate.org/

Includes:  Myth vs. Fact Regarding the "Hockey Stick" , Hurricanes and Global Warming - Is there a Connection? , Fact, Fiction, and Friction in the Hurricane Debate and many other topics.

Dot Earth Blog (from The New York Times)  is another good source of global change and global warming news stories    http://dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com/

NEW!  Some Climate Change YouTube Videos  (with good science content )  NEW!

Some additional background reading from a few years ago (compiled during previous semesters -- some useful perspectives, but be aware that much more is known now that when some of these were written)  CLICK HERE

 Global Warming Skeptic

A skeptic is one who feels that the supportive argument has too many holes, or is defensive about supporting issue.

What are the holes?

Who would be defensive?

What do they have to lose by the supporting issue?

  •     Anything that shows f1u:x in past climate and the proof behind it (i.e., proof: pollen, dust, vegetation)

  •     Anything dealing with CO2 -especially as a positive (i.e., plant life consumption)

  •     What are all the considerations. (i.e., volcanic eruptions, sun, terrestrial carbon cycle and reservoirs
