ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr H went over the answers to the G-5 Assignment on Volcanism and Climate Change (see first slides in presentaion posted below)

2. A 10-point GROUP POP QUIZ was then administered to review what was covered in class on Monday about El Niño and Stratospheric Ozone.

3. Then Dr H gave a lecture presentation with clcicker quesitons that wrapped up Topic #12 Ozone by telling the story of the Discovery of the Ozone Hole and linking it to the Global Energy Balance

4. Finally Topic #13 Global Warming was introduced. This important topic will be continued next Monday and wrapped up on the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Review Dr H's presentation linked above on Topic #12 Wrap and #13 Global Warming & Anthropogenic Forcing - Part A and be sure you understand the answers to the Clicker Questions.
To make up the pop quiz, print out the Make-Up Pop Quiz , fill in the answers, and then on the back, in a few paragraphs, explain WHY the ozone hole in the stratosphere is not a major cause of global warming. Turn in the quiz to Dr H in class next Monday Nov 23rd, or drop it off at her office in the Tree-Ring Lab (Bannister 319). If Dr H is not in her office, slide it under the door, or leave it in her mailbox in the Tree-Ring Lab BusinessMain Office rm 324.
