In class today we did the following:
1. Dr. H gave a presentation on:

- We started out with a practice CLICKER question. Dr
H listed the clicker Device ID #'s of clickers which still need
to be registered and noted the names of students who need to add their
UAnetID to their clicker registration in the box marked "OTHER" on the
webregistration form.
Please be sure your Clicker is registered correctly! Follow the directions at: http://fp.arizona.edu/kkh/nats101gc/clicker-reg.html exactly. If you already registered and need to add or change something (e.g. UA Net ID) just return to the registartion page and enter the correct info -- you old info will be replaced with the new info.
- Please remember to bring your clickers
to every class from now on.
If you forget it, that's your responsibility. There is
no need to tell Dr H or one ot the TAs that you forgot your clicker
because nothing can be done about it at that point.
Do realize that forgetting once or twice should not impact your grade
significanly. Remember:
The 10 clicker participation
points will be based on the % of time you
clicked during all the clicking opportunities of the semester.
Hence it is consistency that matters
the most!
Halfway through class we watched another "Symphony of Science" video from: http://www.symphonyofscience.com

- Dr H went over ASSIGNMENT I-1
(see Dr H's presentation above, Side 28 ). It will be posted under
ASSIGNMENTS in D2L sometime on
Saturday Sep 3rd. It's DUE Monday Sept 12th.
- A "hands on activity" to review the
basics of the PERIODIC TABLE OF THE ELEMENTS was also
explained. Students were encouraged to complete the activity alone
or with a friend and bring in their answers next Wednesday to be
checked. The activity is in the APPENDIX of CLASS NOTES ( pp 107
-111)
