ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr. H continued the presentation on:

Topic # 3 ENERGY & MATTER APPLICATIONS-PART-II [pdf]

At the start of class Dr H explained that the ABSOLUTION FORM (for making up an RQ whose cutoff you missed) is not working correctly, so the RQ-1 cutoff date has been extended to Wednesday Sep 2 by 1:30 pm.

We then had an "open" Pop Quiz on the Syllabus

Then we used the CLICKERS! to test them out with a couple of of review questions (see the posted presentation). Please remember to bring your clickers to every class from now on. And get your clicker or ResponseWare registered as soon as possible -- following the directions posted at our class D2 site.

We also watched the next segment of the "Saved by the Sun" video and discussed current issues related to solar power afterward.

OTHER USEFUL PIECES OF INFORMATION:

OFFICE HOURS are now posted for Dr H and the TA’s on the TEACHING TEAM link. The hours are being held starting this week. See the TEACHING TEAM webpage for a map to the Banniser Tree-Ring Building where Dr H and the TA's are holding office hours. (see MAP for directions).
REMINDER: ALWAYS SEE THE WEEKLY D2L CHECKLIST for announcements of assignments, RQ’s TESTS, etc. and when they are due.
(FYI, RQ-2 will be posted this weekend and is due next Wednesday, Sep 9th, 30 minutes before class starts.)

Finally, just a reminder that you are responsible for knowing the information about due dates and assignments – don’t count on getting a reminder during class time about everything that is due.
