The long version of the title is "Enhanced Water Supply Reliability through Improved Predictive Capacity and Response". This project takes a multi-pronged approach to enhance Arizona's water supply reliability from the Colorado River. Tasks include : a) assess current Bureau of Reclamation use of climate information in river modeling; b) identify strategies (based on paleoclimatology and climate models) for improving water supply predictive capacity for management of the lower Colorado River and the Central Arizona Project; c) evaluate existing state and federal water management tools to translate improved predictive capacity into enhanced supply reliability for water users and d) develop practical supply reliability strategies for municipalities, irrigation districts and other stakeholders.
