ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr H made some announcements about wrapping up the semester (see them copied below)

2.  Students filled out course evaluations

3.  Then students got into their groups for the I-4 GLOBAL WARMING DEBATE

4.  At the end of the debate period, students "voted" their personal view on the Debate question (not their role's) using the clickers.

5.  Dr. H thanked the TAs and preceptors for their assistance this semester and the class -- especially those who put in a dedicated effort.

We ended the semester watching the last 5 minutes of the beautiful film HOME:

At the outset the film challenges us: "Listen carefully to this extraordinary story, which is yours, and decide what you want to do with it."

This is a " visually astonishing portrait of the Earth as seen from mesmerizing aerial views. Home is not the first documentary to survey our planet from the air, but Arthus-Bertrand brilliantly and dreamily captures the miraculous linkage within delicate eco-systems. For viewers whose eyes glaze over at descriptions of the way Earth recycles energy and matter, Home underscores the beautiful and awesome reality of that complex process. " source
